Russ Clark received a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Vanderbilt University in 1987. He received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Information and Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1992 and 1995. 

From 1997-2000, he was a Senior Scientist with Empire Technologies, a network management software company.
