About

Eunhye Grace Flavin is a Senior Research Scientist at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC). As a learning scientist, she leads educational research projects focusing on mathematics education, learning science, and educational technology.

Flavin's research area is 1) design of tech-enhanced learning environment with a focus on mathematics, and 2) STEM workforce development. Her research vision is to develop technologies and learning environments that leverage intelligent systems (e.g., augmented reality, artificial intelligence) to enhance the learning experiences across the life span. As a PI and co-PI, Flavin  has secured multiple grants from national and international agencies in the private and public sectors, such as American Educational Research Association and Avanade Tech Grant. Flavin has also established herself as an expert researcher with over 30 refereed articles published in highly regarded journals, including Nature, Journal of Teacher Education, and Urban Education. Flavin was awarded as an Early Career BIPOC faculty mentee by the Association of Mathematics Teacher Education (AMTE) in 2023. She currently serves as a member of the Research Committee at AMTE. Also, she leads a team in Artificial Intelligence for mathematics education within the working group Math TeQuity at the North American Chapter of the International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education. Flavin was also honored with the Professor of the Month Award in 2022 as an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) at Stonehill College. In 2023 and 2024, she was selected as a Senior Class Gift Mentor Honoree and as a mentor nominee for the Tri-Alpha inaugural induction ceremony.

Currently at Georgia Tech, Eunhye co-leads and teaches a Mechatronics and Motivation course in the VIP program alongside an Electrical Engineering professor. Previously, she developed and taught online and in-person courses in Mathematics and Education Studies at Boston College and Stonehill College. Eunhye earned her Ph.D. from the Lynch School of Education at Boston College in 2021, specializing in Mathematics and Technology Education.
