People are living longer, they’re working longer, they’re changing their jobs and careers more often than ever before. How do we spark and sustain a drive to learn that will last a lifetime? The College of Lifetime Learning is helping the world navigate this era by elevating the academic study of learning to transform how we understand and practice learning at all levels and ages.

Our vision is that every learner and employer will have access to quality education delivered at scale at any place, any time, and any stage of life. Our mission is to use education, research, and service to address challenges in learning access, effectiveness, and relevance.

The College of Lifetime Learning is formed of highly impactful teams that have independently served K-12, degreed and professional education, and research needs. To this comprehensive foundation, the College is adding faculty to shape and lead a new field, the study of learning itself.

Together, we will enable learning that is accessible, affordable, impactful, and achievable for learners at all stages of life so individuals, governments, and businesses can drive economic prosperity and improve the human condition.

Center for 21st Century Universities

C21U’s researchers and technologists support the Institute and the College's mission by pushing the boundaries of higher education to bring our learners the most innovative technologies and resources.

Much of C21U’s research has existed in spaces not being pursued by others, actively collaborating with and informing internal and external higher education stakeholders, including institutions, academic faculty, staff, learners at different stages in life, and industry leaders, to drive innovations in teaching and learning.

Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing

CEISMC provides inclusive and inspiring STEM/STEAM experiences in K-12 classrooms and out-of-school settings. The team develops research and implementation programs on multiple dimensions of STEM educational reform, innovative curricula, and teacher professional development. These initiatives are achieved through school/community outreach and sustainable partnerships that foster student success and workforce development.

Additionally, EXCEL is a four-year inclusive postsecondary education certificate program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Professional Education

As the global campus and lifetime education arm for the Institute, GTPE helps professionals and organizations evolve, adapt, and advance through access to critical ongoing education with immediate workplace impact.

Through a powerful and flexible mix of courses, certificates, and online degrees, adult learners can access Georgia Tech’s deep expertise in STEM and business from anywhere around the globe. On an annual basis, GTPE serves and supports more than 100,000 learners — the "students” who don't live on campus but outnumber those physically here.
